Technical Directing 101

Instructor: Dena Schumacher, LMCTV Studio Production Manager

Working with a NEWTEK Tricaster and three camera HD set-up, students will learn the skills necessary for Technical Directing.  Skills learned include starting sessions, uploading videos into the system for playback on-air, implementing graphics, and green screen technology.  This class will be a prerequisite for a future class for technical director for “The Local Live.” Maximum of (4) students.

 

Screenwriting 101

Instructor: Matt Sullivan, LMCTV Chief Operating Officer

Have a television or film script idea?  Using Amazon Storywriter, students will learn the basics of screenwriting from conceptualization to formatting. Students will also review scripts and see how the scenes turned out as finished films.  All ages are welcome! Maximum of (6) students.

*Participants will need to create an Amazon account prior to the class, if they do not have one already.  

 

Sports Highlight Reading 101

Do you have what it takes to be like your favorite sports news show hosts? Attendees will be given strategies and pointers for effective highlight reads, then given the opportunity to use the teleprompter to test out their new skills in LMCTV’s studio. Attendees will be given feedback on their reads and also provided with a digital copy to keep.  Students must be 16 years of age or older. Maximum of (6) students.

 

Smartphone Photography

Unlock the power of your smartphone* and learn how to capture better images, use basic photo editing techniques, and store all of your important memories in the cloud all from the palm of your hand.  All that is required for this workshop is a smartphone* (preferably released within the last 2 years or so), some basic understanding on how to download apps, and of course a passion for amazing photography! Maximum of (6) students.  All ages welcome!

Talk TV: A Producer’s Guide

Reporter’s Bootcamp

Learn to be a reporter, pitch your story, film your interview, write your script, narrate your voice-overs and present on camera. All ages are welcome! Maximum of (6) students.

 

Teen Edit Workshop

Learn how to edit your previously shot phone or camera video footage with Adobe Premiere.

Do you love to record on your phone or video camera. Would you like to learn how to put slow motion, filters, video effects, color correction, and add music to make a cool video for YouTube?

If so take our teenage based editing workshop and learn how!  All students must come with their own footage on a thumb drive.  Students must be 12-18 years of age. Maximum (6) students.
