About Us

The mission of LMCTV is to strengthen our community by providing the supportive environment and facilities necessary to encourage freedom of speech, public dialogue and artistic expression that reflect the diverse interests and needs of the Larchmont-Mamaroneck Community.

Larchmont-Mamaroneck Community Television (LMCTV) was founded in 1983 as a non-profit corporation organized under section 501 (C) (3) of the United States Internal Revenue Act. The purpose of the organization is to make communication training facilities, equipment and channel space available on an open, non-discriminatory basis to Larchmont and Mamaroneck community members.

LMCTV is run on a day to day basis by the Chief Operating Officer and staff.  LMCTV volunteers produce nearly a thousand hours of local community television each year. Staff produces a limited number of productions (mainly board meetings) for the town, the two villages and the two school districts. Determinations on what events are covered are made by staff with an eye towards balancing budgetary, equipment and staffing limitations with governmental and educational access needs as determined by those institutions (and therefore the public).  LMCTV also produces live community event telecasts (such as Live Election Coverage, the Fireman’s Parade and The Sound Shore St. Patrick’s Day Parade) with extensive participation from community producers and volunteers.  LMCTV’s news show “The Local Live,” is a hyper-local program that focuses on news and current events in the Larchmont, Mamaroneck, and Rye Neck communities.  For more information on public access channels and their important role in our democracy, please CLICK HERE.

Board of Directors

LMCTV is governed by an eleven member Board of Directors that meet monthly to determine company policy, provide support and guidance to the CEO and COO, and help raise funds for the operation of the organization. The Board of Directors is composed of community members chosen by itself.

Board of Control

Major funding for LMCTV comes from the Larchmont – Mamaroneck Tri-Municipal Cable TV Board of Control. The Board of Control was organized by the Villages of Larchmont and Mamaroneck, and the Town of Mamaroneck to administer the franchise agreement between the municipalities and Cablevision and Verizon – the cable providers for Larchmont – Mamaroneck.

Annual Reports

LMCTV produces annual reports yearly, describing the current state of the station, upcoming projects, and long-term plans.
