LMCTV Officially Announces The Start of Election Season

The election season has officially started and LMCTV will be offering its traditional “Meet the Candidates” show for all political parties in the upcoming election.  For this campaign, we have established the following milestones:
Wednesday, July 22 – Campaign Period officially begins.  Any candidate who hosts or produces a show may not continue with their show.  This includes any and all candidates, even those running unopposed.  Candidates are free to appear on other shows as invited.
A party running candidates for a local election, such as for a Board of Trustees, may produce two programs (deadlines below).  A bonafide independent candidate running for a local election may also produce two programs.
A party running candidates for a Congress or NYS Assembly, may produce one program, due Tuesday, October 13th. Similarly an independent candidate for NYS Assembly may produce one program due Tuesday, October 13th.
Tuesday, September 15th – First “Meet the Candidates” program for local elections due by 10am at LMCTV Headquarters, 740 W. Boston Post Road, Mamaroneck, Suite #311.  That means political parties or bona fide independent candidates have until then to make their first show.  The first “Meet the Candidates” programs will begin to air that day on our prime-time political programming blocks and will continue to air regularly and often until we begin running the second “Meet the Candidates” program (see below), which will also air on a regular basis.
Tuesday, October 13th – Second “Meet the Candidates” program for local elections due by 10am at LMCTV Headquarters.  These programs will begin airing that day through Election Day.
Tuesday, November 3rd – Election Day.

LMCTV Announces Re-Organization

LMCTV’s Board of Directors announced Monday a reorganization of its management effective immediately, according to LMCTV Board President Jefferson Meighan.
Under the new structure, former Executive Director Erik Lewis will assume the role of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) focusing more on policy, strategic planning, “The Local Live” News Show and fundraising; while former Associate Director Matt Sullivan will assume the position of Chief Operating Officer (COO) running the day-to-day operations of the local cable TV network and focusing on community outreach.  “We rely on Erik’s broad experience and guidance as we move toward a consolidation of our operations to better fulfill our mission,” said Meighan.
LMCTV, or Larchmont Mamaroneck Community Television, serves the tri-municipality (Villages of Mamaroneck & Larchmont and Town of Mamaroneck) by covering news, governmental meetings, board of education meetings, the arts & culture, community events, educational events and offers unique original programming. The network airs on channels 75, 76, 77 on Cablevision and 34, 35, 36 on Verizon/FiOS.
“For more than 15 years, Erik has been the face of LMCTV in our communities,” Meighan said. “Thankfully, we are not losing Erik, but gaining the expanded public managerial role of COO for Matt,” he explained. “Matt will be making the ‘community connection’ come alive,” he added. “This is a win-win for LMCTV and our viewing public,” he exclaimed.
Matt Sullivan, a native of Mamaroneck, continues his career in television which started under the tutelage of LMCTV Vice President Michael Witsch, while attending Mamaroneck High School.  After studying film at Emerson College in Boston, Sullivan took his career to Los Angeles, working on several network television shows including Deal or no Deal, The Office, 24, House and Castle.  “I’m happy to bring all of my experience back home and continue the  mission of LMCTV,” said Sullivan.
In over 5 years working at LMCTV, Matt has redesigned the website, initiated a campaign for a new logo, allowed for LMCTV channels to be streamed online, transitioned to YouTube hosted videos, initiated indexed government meetings available on the internet and created an e-newsletter.
